Did you know?
You can use an Excel spreadsheet to import users into Jira Align to work with the application more effectively and save time!
Here are some tips you can use to ensure good performance as you import users:
- Start with the template we’ve provided on the User Import page. If your Excel spreadsheet is formatted incorrectly, the import may fail.
- Fill in all required fields. If a user is a time tracker (the Time Tracker field set to Yes), you’ll also be required to fill in conditional time tracking fields.
- Make sure that the entered values in all required fields match the existing system values.
- For the Cost Center column, you can set multiple entry values using comma separation in a cell.
- Make sure that if the Manager or Time Approver fields are filled in, these users exist in Jira Align. If the import fails, this might be because the accounts haven’t been created yet.
- If the Time Approvers Must Be Company Employees option is turned on within the Time Tracking Settings page (Administration > Time Tracking > General Time Tracking Settings), make sure you do not set contractors as time approvers.
- Make sure that Time Approver is in the same hierarchy as the time tracker if the Time Approvers: Can only approve time for time trackers in their enterprise hierarchy option is selected on the Time Tracking Settings page (Administration > Time Tracking > General Time Tracking Settings).
