As Jira Align continues to grow our R&D team, we are investing more in improving our speed, quality, and overall ability to take feedback. As you may already know, back in March we announced our huge bug squashing initiative where we reviewed and squashed over 1,000 bugs in an effort to better understand our biggest problem areas. For more on that initiative, click here!
Now we are taking the next step; we’re consolidating all your suggestions in one place, JAC (jira.atlassian.com). That means at the end of the quarter, Jira Align will stop using our internal Ideation portal to receive suggestions from customers on how to improve our product. Instead, we will start using JAC (jira.atlassian.com), Atlassian’s public issue tracker for other Atlassian products such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and more.
Now that we are consolidating our issue trackers, we will significantly improve upon our response times while also sharing more personalized product feedback. All newly submitted ideas will be reviewed each quarter, and you should expect product feedback latest ~3 months after your submission.
This work also contributes to one of our FY2024 goals, which is creating a Unified Atlassian Solution. In doing this work, we are bringing our products and processes closer to other Atlassian products, and paving the way for a more seamless experience across Atlassian’s suite of software.
As part of our effort to consolidate all suggestions in JAC, we reviewed over 1,000 ideas in an effort to better understand the parts of the product our users want to see the most enhancements. We will be migrating many of these ideas to JAC for you to track. We selected ideas to migrate based on several variables, including the feature (such as backlog and roadmaps), recency (submitted within the last 2 years), and the number of voters, among others.
Additionally, all ideas submitted in September 2023 will be automatically migrated to JAC to give you some time to get used to the new process. At the end of September, our internal Ideation portal will be closed, and no new ideas will be migrated or created.
If you subscribed to an idea in the Ideation portal, you will automatically become a watcher in JAC so you don’t have to go searching for your suggestion.
Finally, and excitedly, many of these suggestions will be incorporated into future product enhancements, which you can learn more about in our upcoming Jira Align Roadmap Webinar.
Atlassian Partners, we’ve got you covered too! You’ll be able to access the roadmap and ask us questions by visiting the Jira Align Product Roadmap & Frequently Asked Questions page in the Partner Portal.
To make a suggestion, reach out to Atlassian Support. Our dedicated team of support engineers will carefully evaluate your request and work with you to determine whether it is best classified as a bug or a suggestion. Once they’ve added your bug or suggestion to JAC, they’ll provide you with a link where you can track its progress.
No, Jira Align continues to maintain the Ideation feature for customer use by addressing bugs, reviewing suggestions, and incorporating it into our long-term strategy.
We are excited about this new chapter of dialogue on product feedback, and we hope you are too! If you have any questions, please contact your Advisory Services team, or follow up in the ticket.
