The Department of Defense recently posted an article reemphasizing the importance of Enterprise Modernization. Enterprise Modernization has been an ongoing effort for the DoD but has seen increased momentum and focus following the COVID-19 pandemic and directives like the DoD’s 2022 Software Modernization Strategy.
Lily Zeleke, acting Deputy CIO for Information Enterprise, spoke at the 2022 Cloud Summit about the DoD’s Software Modernization Strategy goals and challenges.
“Cloud adoption, software modernization, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity are paramount to all Defense Department missions… our ability to deliver information at resilience and speed, as well as [delivering] secure information to our people, is paramount to staying ahead of adversaries,” she said.
Taking advantage of modern technology helps agencies reach mission success and better serve the needs of citizens. As technology shifts and expands, it remains critical for government organizations to undergo modernization efforts.
