java.lang.NullPointerException when closing review in Crucible

John Landis March 23, 2016

We have one review in Crucible that is completed, but when anyone clicks the 'Close' button, they get a 'Server Error' message, stating the following:

"URL: /json/cru/CR-608/changeStateAjax

A java.lang.NullPointerException was encountered

No further details were provided.

You are running release CR3.8.0 FE3.8.0 (201504271400192015-04-27)"

This only affects one review; all others are able to close.

Could you please check if you have any non-published draft comments in this review and publish or delete them?

I'm asking because I found one bug report related with the changeStateAjax:

https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-7570

Although the error message and the stack trace are different and the bug report is about version 4.0.0, there may be a chance that in version 3.8.0 it manifests differently.

It turns out there was a deleted comment that was preventing the review from closing. Restoring the comment enabled me to close the review. Thanks for your response, it was helpful.

Great! I raised a bug report describing your case: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CRUC-7660
