Where should FishEye preferably be installed? On the server running Jira, on a separate server, on the server running the subversion server and the mercurial repos?

The usual recommendation is to install it on the main source control server (the one running subversion or mercurial) because it can make a lot of information requests to the repository. A local connection means faster and lower load.
