I have followed the instructions in the following link based off the error I receive when trying to connect to link to a bitbucket repository in my air gaped environment (SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate in certificate chain):

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserverkb/resolving-ssl-self-signed-certificate-errors-806029899.html

The crucible server is a Windows 2019 server with GIT 2.37.1.

The Bitbucket server is a Red Hat Enterprise 8 server with GIT 2.31.1.

We have our own CA and the keystore and truststore have both the RootCA and the bitbucket.crt listed in the chain.

I still receive the same error when trying to use http(s) for the Git Authentication Style.

Bitbucket version 7.21

Crucible version 4.8.8

This is the solution that seems to work.

  • Re-install the command-line version of git from https://git-scm.com/download/win
  • In the installation, select "Use the native Windows Secure Channel library" rather than the default "Use the OpenSLL Library" option.
