We reached file / revison limit in an important review (400/800).
Is it possible to split an existing review into multiple smaller (less files) reviews, keeping all comments which are posted by reviewers already?
Alternatively a review copy/clone feature could work too. Does anybody know if this is possible?
Hello @SAM-Harman,
While it is not possible to split a review in multiple ones, it is possible to increase the number of file revisions allowed in a review by configuring the crucible.review.content.size.limit JVM System Property. The default value is 800.
However, as mentioned in this document, a higher limit will allow larger reviews, which might potentially slow the instance down.
I hope this helps!
Felipe
By performance concerns we do not want to increase the limit.
Copying/cloning a review is not mentioned anywhere, do you have an idea?
Thank you!
Werner

Hi Werner,
Cloning / copying a review is not possible.
For instance, if that was possible, wouldn't that result in having two exact same reviews that reached the file revision limit? The only difference would be their key...
Cheers,
Felipe

Hi Felipe,
if we could clone a review, it could be possible to remove some files from origin and to remove other files from clone. Afterwards to add more versions of remaining files to origin and to clone.
Thank you for your feedback,
Werner

Hi Werner,
At this time, cloning reviews is not yet possible in Crucible.
I have suggested this to our development team, and you can track this suggestion here:
CRUC-8362 - Be able to clone reviews
We would strongly encourage you to both vote and comment on this issue to offer your feedback and increase its visibility with our developers.
Please see the Implementation of New Features Policy document for more information on how Atlassian chooses which suggestions to implement.
Have a great day!
Regards,
Felipe
