FishEye SQL Server Collation

Deleted user May 4, 2014

Hello,

Documentation at https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/FISHEYE/Migrating+to+SQL+Serversays"Your database server must be configured to use theLatin1_General_CS_AS collation set".

We currently do not have any SQL Server Instance configured to that collation at the server level.

Do you handle the possibility that the server instance has a difference collation to database, whereby the tempdb will contain a different collation? Or must our server instnace have collation of "Latin1_General_CS_AS" in order to function properly?

Hi Aarfin, thanks very much for your answer. Quick follow up - does the database support different collation betwen server instance and database?

ie. Server is Latin1_General_CI_AS

Database is Latin1_General_CS_AS.

In procedures where comparisons are required, do tempdb objects get created with specified collation clause?

Hi Alex,

As mentioned in the documentation, it is best for your database to be configured to use the Latin1_General_CS_AS collation set. Using collation other than the recommend one may cause issue/errors on your instance.
