Device visibility now available for cloud admins!

We excited to share that we recently launched a feature called Device Visibility for admins. Device visibility gives you more confidence in our cloud products by providing you with information on who is logging in, when and what device. This feature has been requested by customers and is on our platform roadmap.

Admins can now view the desktop and mobile devices used to log into Atlassian cloud products for any managed account. Admins will be able to see the following information:

  • Device type

  • OS

  • Browser

  • IP address

  • Last active date

To find it, go to admin.atlassian.com > Organization > Directory > Managed Accounts > User Profile

Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like:

We would love to get your feedback on the device visibility feature as we continue to improve it! Please leave a comment below or connect with us here.

We are also interested in chatting with organizations that use MDM (mobile device management) or MAM (mobile application management). Please connect with us here to chat: https://forms.gle/gFU29Lrdf9kUyLH87

Hi @Matthew Ho ,

Is it only available to those who have Atlassian Access?

Thanks!

Hi,

it appears that the tracking is not limited to the users who "log into Atlassian cloud products".

Consider this:

we have the domain claimed and SSO authentication set up.

Yet, some users, after working with Jira for some time, move on and are removed from the the groups that have an access to Jira or any other Atlassian product.

These people are not logging in to Atlassian. For all practical purpose they are no longer Atlassian users.

Yet Atlassian shows their PC login information on the user info page. This appears to update when the user logs in to their Windows machine and not to Atlassian product. Because they are no longer using any.

I've asked support to explain what's going on and they pointed me to this announcement. Still this does not explain much.

This looks more like a security breach than a reasonable 'feature'.
