Community release notes for May 15, 2017

Hi all! We are working on a two-week sprint schedule and will be posting release notes after each sprint so you know what we've released and what we're still working on.

This time around, we released some fixes to improve platform security, and some minor bug fixes and performance improvements. Of particular note, the team:

  • Improved the feedback the system gives to users when there is a timeout in the reply editor. We are currently working to make that timeout longer to alleviate the problem further.
  • Updated the copy for handling subscriptions to make it more user-friendly.
  • Fixed the links in email notifications that lead to the "Frankenthread" problem. As a side effect, individual messages now have permalinks that allow you to link to a particular message in a thread in contexct.

As our top priority right now, we are working on these items. In our upcoming sprints, we plan to:

  1. Fix the issue that is causing some users not to receive email
  2. Add the ability to subscribe to a search
  3. Offer more granular email subscription settings to users
  4. Enable RSS feeds and make them easier to find/use
  5. Make improvements to the editor; the first two are to increase the editor size and preserve markup when copying and pasting. (This is another one that will be ongoing.)
  6. Add the ability to sort search by recency
  7. Save the filter and sort preferences for users
  8. Add some checkboxes to the create flow allowing users to choose a collection when content is created

If you have any specific questions, let us know, or as always, post in the Feedback Forum
