×Welcome to the 6th edition of the Enterprise Examiner! I’m writing from the Pacific Northwest in the US, where there’s a lovely Fall breeze in the air 🍃 because it’s finally September, and that means we have some exciting new content about enterprise cloud and migrations. This month, you can expect a new white paper providing a guide to multi-instance scale in cloud, a brief update from sandbox ebooks, blogs and a new cloud infrastructure page in the Trust center.
For details on what was shared last month, you can find that here - but for all the updates on the latest, read on to see what’s new from our team in the September Issue of the Enterprise Examiner.
The 6 migration tooling EAP programs will begin launching in Beta releases later this month and continue into October and November on a rolling basis. This means the capabilities will be available within the Marketplace versions of the Jira and Confluence Cloud Migration Assistants. Please note, all dates listed are subject to change.
JCMA app migration: Sept 21, 2021
Cloud-to-cloud migration for Jira: Oct 4, 2021
JSM migration: Oct 12, 2021
CCMA app migration: Oct 12, 2021 (we will hold on a customer announcement in Community until JCMA and CCMA app migrations have launched)
Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant: Oct 31, 2021 (no Beta launch, straight to GA)
For more information on participation, please see this announcement post.
Our Trust site acts a self-service portal where you can learn more about Atlassian’s security processes and practices. To help provide you the information you need, we’ve recently published a new page, Atlassian Cloud architecture and operational practices, to the Trust site. This provides a detailed description of the infrastructure we use to host our Cloud products, the architecture of the Cloud platform, and the operational practices that further safeguard your data.
With the introduction of this page, companies of any size can come to our Trust Center and learn more about what's happening under the hood. This will also help make it much easier to conduct security assessments, provide clarity into Atlassian’s cloud architecture, and supply a technical deep dive that will set up your teams for success as you scale.
As you plan for your Atlassian cloud journey, it’s important to consider the best ways to architect your environment for the cloud-first world. The concept of spinning up multiple “product instances” to support autonomy, data segregation or advanced customization needs seems highly appealing. However this can raise concerns around potential silos, lack of standardization or non-compliance with corporate security guidelines. Not to fear, we have you covered!
In the latest white paper, Guide to multi-instance scale in Atlassian cloud, we explain how our Jira and Confluence Cloud Enterprise offerings can help you balance the need for customizable solutions with organization-wide governance in terms of user management, security, billing, analytics and more. We also cover capabilities that will enable you to retain cross-team collaboration in a multi-instance setup.
As always, our Platform blog page has so much to offer. This month, we’d like to highlight three blog posts we think you’ll really enjoy. Two of these are all about managing change in cloud: the road to effective change management in cloud and 4 ways to manage change seamlessly in Atlassian cloud, and one that dives deep into the details of a cloud migration, called what you should know about cloud migration. Whether you’re migrating to the cloud now, planning to, or considering it, these are all great reads!
Learn about Castlight Health, a company who recently - and successfully - migrated their Atlassian products & apps to the cloud. By moving to the cloud, the company was able to reduce costs, remove downtime & maintenance, improve security and so much more. Read on to see how rewarding the move can be: https://www.atlassian.com/customers/castlight.
We are constantly delivering new features to improve our cloud offerings. In the “What’s new and better in Atlassian Cloud?” eBook, we have the latest in product-specific versions highlighting the best of cloud for Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
Thanks for reading, and look out for what’s new on in the next Enterprise Examiner 🦇🧟♀️👻.
