Moving from Jira core server to Jira software DC

Reab January 6, 2021

Hi,

We are planning to move to Jira Datacenter (Standalone architecture), we are currently using Jira core server. as Jira core is not supported in DC we have to install Jira software and then migrate to DC.

What I need to do to get this done:

  • Install Jira software application.
  • apply Jira software License DC.
  • assign all users to Jira software group instead of Jira core (Jira core group seems not working in Datacenter, can anyone confirm?

I'm I missing something? Also we are using docker to deploy Jira. Currently the base image is Jira core, can we continue using it or is it recommended to switch to Jira software image?

Hi @Reab ,

I think thats the right way.

If you have any apps, you'll have to license them also for data center.

If you grant the jira-core-users group the application access for Jira Software, it should work, but there might be other places where you have to add it, like global permissions.
