Does JIRA data center support triggers from Github to automate transitions?

Robbie Banks August 20, 2020

Hi there,

Previously used JIRA Cloud and set up triggers to automate ticket transitions in JIRA. I'm having all sorts of difficulties trying to get the same thing in JIRA Data Center. Is this feature supported? If not, why?

@Robbie Banks - hi Robbie! Triggers are supported in Jira Data Center.

  • Have you linked your GitHub repo(s) with Jira yet?
  • What version of Jira DC are you running? Check your installed apps. Is the add-on com.atlassian.jira.plugins.jira-transition-triggers-plugin present and enabled?

We are running 8.5 I believe. I couldn't find a way to directly link to the Triggers from Github. It has out the box for BitBucket, etc - but not github

@Robbie Banks - did you get around to linking at least one GitHub repo with Jira yet?

If so, once you add a trigger, you'll see the repo as a trigger source.

Turns out I linked the wrong way. Will reset and that should sort the issue. Thanks for the pointer.
