Hi All,

Does anyone have access the Jira using two different URL's?

In datacenter if we are running 3 nodes and we have removed the 3rd node from the load balancer for some maintenance like Full indexing on Node-3 and want to check certain config changes after the indexing is completed before adding that node to the load balancer.

I want to access that 3rd node with some different URL

Does anyone have tried this on their data center environment or how you access your nodes which are in maintenance mode.

You cannot and should not do this for normal users - it will break in interesting ways.  Everyone should use the same base-url (i.e. the one fronted by the load balancer)

But each of your nodes has a separate address and you can simply use that (from a machine that is behind the load balancer, or bypassing it).

If you've got nodes running on 192.168.1.4, 192.168.1.8, and 192.168.1.16, with the load balancer presenting https://ourdcserver.ourdomain.com/jira for example, then instead of going to  https://ourdcserver.ourdomain.com/jira, go to https://192.168.1.8/jira to hit the middle node in the list.

The dashboard will break, and some other stuff will, but the admin screens will work ok.  Just be careful to keep an eye on the url as you jump pages, it's very easy to get put back on to the base url - make sure you keep working with the raw ip address of the node.

Thanks for the update Nic, Is there anything we can do on proxy level as accessing the application on IP http://192.168.1.8/jira like this will need an port 8080 to be open for internal subset at least not sure about this but just thought about it.

Yes, you can proxy the url directly as well, but this may have more faults than just hitting the url of the server.  Admin should still be ok, but I wouldn't use it for anything else!
