Crowd server can be accessed by ssh but cant ping internet

Edited

Hey all,

So recently the school library burned down, and so did most of the servers for the school with it.

It seems as though our dns ran through the library, so for most of our sites we just simply added another dns nameserver to /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/original and that got all of those VMs back and connected to the internet, but sadly not our crowd server.

Whats weird is the fact that I can connect to the server through ssh, and ping 8.8.8.8, but I cannot ping sites like google.com.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Fixed it by editing /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail instead and adding the nameserver dns there instead!
