We need to match our Crowd usernames with another company internal employee directory. Someone has created an ID inside the company in the form of "#abcd.service" that begins with a # sign. Can we create an account with that same username in Crowd? Is that a valid name?
We have tried that in Crowd and the user creation seems successful. However, sometimes we get the error message username %32abcd.service doesn't exist. So apparently Crowd may have encoded the # tag.
We use an older version of Crowd: 2.5.2
Hi there,
We have tried to repicate the issue on your end, but we are unable to do so. Could you please confirm that your database collation is set to UTF8. This could be due to database encoding issue.
Please review our database encoding documentation, it might help to troubleshoot the issue on your end.
Hope ti helps.
