We are getting a timeout message adding a Crowd directory to our Jira Server.

Application is defined in Crowd.

Addin config in Jira returns:

Connection test failed. Response from the server:
org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException: Connect to crowd.cheileu.com:80 [crowd.cheileu.com/54.194.1.186, crowd.cheileu.com/54.194.94.24] failed: connect timed out

The Jira logs only show the timeout error
Caused by: org.apache.http.conn.ConnectTimeoutException: Connect to crowd.cheileu.com:80 [crowd.cheileu.com/54.194.1.186, crowd.cheileu.com/54.194.94.24] failed: connect timed out

I've RTFM'd a few times and I think we've done everything

Postman returns the crowd web-page

Curl doesn't seem to return anything

I have not managed to get a response to a crowd REST call

Any suggestions?

Tom

Is Crowd listening on port 80? By default, it listens on 8095.

Hi @Dave Theodore [Coyote Creek Consulting]

The problem turned out to be security issues between Crowd and Jira nodes in AWS.

We could call it from other devices

getting a Curl command to work on server showed the way
