I can't see the options to create a new space from an existing template anymore -

Create a space from a template | Confluence Cloud | Atlassian Support

Is there a setting i need to enable? only having 'knowledgebase' and 'collaboration' isn't suitable. We're not a software development company.

The existing templates were fine for our small company to get various teams up and running and begin adding information. Not having them available will be a blocker for adoption

@Jakub Kaczanowski Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

You may want to refer to this recent article: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Introducing-the-new-space-creation-experience/ba-p/2791143

Apparently, they have not yet updated the related documentation page.

Hey @Jakub Kaczanowski

Welcome to Atlassian Community.

Based on your description, you are referring the new space creation experience, which was released recently (as mentioned by @Barbara Szczesniak).

Currently, the "templates" will define the features that will be enabled by default on that space. The available options are "knowledge base" and "collaboration" for now, but the development team raised the feature request below to collect customer feedback to include more options in the future:

Regarding the communal space not being displayed, when creating the space on the new experience, you can select the permissions that will be applied to that new space:

  • Default Permissions - It'll apply the default space permissions defined on Confluence Settings (direct link https://<YOUR-SITE>.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/permissions/space-permissions/defaults)
  • Only Visible to Me - Only your user will have access to the space
  • Copy Permissions from Another Space - You can select other space to copy its permissions

You can check the recently created space permissions and validate if it's not restricting its access to more users. If you have further issues with the space visibility, feel free to raise a support request with us.

Cheers,

The other problem I see is that spaces created using this new workflow don't show up in the 'communal' filter.

We only started using confluence a few months ago and no one here has ever used it or anything like it before.

Seeing the beginner training wheel features removed while i'm trying to onboard different teams is really annoying
