simple Button(s) which contain internal links to a number of subpages

Hello Good People of Confluence world!

I understand there are paste in links, which are formatted and look like this:

I tried to work with that, however its not what I am looking for nor prefer that.  On load it looks bad and I cant use that as a presentation.  Not to mention it takes a bit long to load...

I'd like to create a custom button(s) from which then I can assemble a Navigation menu.  has anyone done this with in the Confluence New editor?  If so, would you be kind to share your approach?

In general, from what I gather we are currently limited to just paste in links to making them look like one above.  Thats really unfortunate if this is the only method.

Thank you in advance for anyone who can provide any fresh direction on this one.
