Hey,
in my private life I'm using Notion and a Master-DB to safe links with all kind of topics, tag them and sort them by a Topic-Page out of the Master-DB.
Is there something similiar possible with Confluence, I need it for my team to organize; like a "Second Brain Approach"?
Wanted:
Like this: How to make a master task database from scratch using Notion -> https://youtu.be/cuENPvhC0G4?t=234
Is there a native option with Confluence or another PlugIn for Confluence?
Thanks for your help!
If you're looking for a comparable experience to structure and organize content in Confluence like in Notion, I suggest looking at our app Orderly Databases for Confluence.
We designed this app because we lacked a way to structure and organize our information in Confluence using relational databases especially when it comes to ensuring that data is dynamically updated everywhere rather than becoming outdated.
Let me go through your Wanted list real quick:
โ an Input-Master-DB where we can dumb all notes, ideas, topics, links, pages, websites...
๐๐ฝ Create a new database and share it across Confluence using different macros to display a whole database, single entries, or single values on any page. ๐ค๐ผ
โ option to add different attributes (columns ) to the entry, like: Headline, Link, Notes, Category/Tag, User, ...
๐๐ฝ You can pick from more than a dozen different field types to:
โ filter the Master-DB by the attributes and render a new view of the Master DB
๐๐ฝ You have different ways to display information (such as table, board, and cards), as well as filtering, grouping, sorting it, and selecting what fields to present.
You can then create saved views for databases and reuse them in macros. Or always change the view on the fly. We just shipped the feature last week. ๐
โ mobile app to use it on the go and with mobile
๐๐ฝ You can view and edit whole databases and single entries of a database within the Confluence app. Unfortunately, however, the Confluence app is sometimes a bit clunky when it comes to integrating apps.
So maybe you'll take another look at Orderly. A lot has happened! :)
There's a free trial available, and it's permanently free for smaller teams, so you can try it out and see if it works for you.
Best, Max
Oh nice, this looks like what i'm looking for. I will check this in detail...
What I like about notion is the "send to app" feature. I can send a link from mobile device to the database and click on the notification and specify the details like notes, tags etc. This works from every app (YouTube, Webbrowser etc.)
Can I use your tool like this? Is it useable from mobile devices, or did i have to edit the specific Confluence page?
Thanks for your response.

Hey Moritz,
As mentioned, you can use Orderly within the official Atlassian Confluence app, as the macro is supported. Still, I'm not aware of a similar feature in the Confluence mobile app in general like the one you're describing.
One upside: You don't need to open pages in the editor to edit or add information in Orderly neither in the browser nor the mobile app. Orderly offers you a comfortable inline editing experience in both ways.
Best, Max

Love this idea! There is a Notion app in the Atlassian Marketplace, but you could also use something like this: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1226384/checklists-for-confluence-free-habits-team-discipline?hosting=cloud&tab=reviews
