Better Content Archiving is a purpose-built app for automated page archiving!

The app is extremely configurable, but roughly you need to take the following steps:

  1. Install the app
  2. Configure the status called "To archive" (you can set the number of days after a page becomes "archivable")
  3. Refresh the statuses
  4. View the Content Status Report (check whether it reflects the "old redundant" pages as you'd expect)
  5. Activate the automation with the "Archive" action (it will periodically execute, find the pages in the "To archive" status and actually archive them)
  6. Optionally, activate the custom notifications (so that people are warned before and after page archivals)
  7. Wait for the next periodic execution of the Execute Automations job or start it right away manually

(Disclaimer: it is a paid and supported app developed by our team. Free for 10 users!)
