we want to make some content from our pages like case studies, links to videos, etc available to customers who wouldn't be subscribers to Confluence. any suggestions of how to do this?

You can enable Anonymous access to Confluence on a per-space level (see http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Setting+up+Anonymous+Access).
Alternatively, you can export the content to PDF or HTML and then provide the content in an offline fashion.
