Does anyone know how to upload items to confluence? I have limited editing capabilities, cannot upload documents or photos. I dont know who the administrator is and have reached out to several people within my company with no luck.
Cannot reach a live person through atlassian, so no support there.
Hello @Paul Gallo
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
To upload files to Confluence you would attach the files to a page. You would click the ... button in the upper right corner of the page and select Attachments, then Files. If you have sufficient permissions, that will take you to a page where you can attach more files to the page.
If you have permissions to Edit a page, you'll see the Edit button in the upper right corner of the page.
If you have permission to create pages within the space, you'll be able to do that by clicking on the Create button in the menus.
It sounds like you are experiencing a lack of permissions. Atlassian can't fix that for you. Only the company that subscribed to the Confluence product and set up the site can manage the permissions of users for that site.
If the site is administered by your company, there should be somebody within the company that knows who the administrators are.
Each Space should have Space Admins who could manage permissions for the Space. There should also be Confluence administrators who can manage permissions, and Atlassian Cloud Organization Administrators.
I'm sure you have already tried contacting several people. I usually recommend the following people
1. Contact the person who told you you should be working with the specified product at the specified site. If they told you to work with a specific space, they should know who manages the space.
2. Contact the person who set up your access, granted you access, told you that you had been granted access to the product and the site.
3. Contact your internal tech support team.
4. Contact your company's finance organization. If your company is the customer that has set up the product subscription, somebody in the company must be paying for it.
I suppose it is possible that your company doesn't own the site at all. Is it possible that you are working with some partner or client of your company that has provided access to you?
@Paul Gallo If you select Space Settings > General > Space Details, there is an Admins sections listing the Admins for the space.
With regard to uploading attachments, this is a separate permission from being able to edit a page. You might have Add permission for Pages, whiteboards, databases, and Smart Links, but not for Attachments.
