how to custom sidebar ?

Hi,

We have just migrated to confluence cloud.
My users are complaining about the spaces sidebar.
they say that: the lines are too spaced out, some elements are useless and it is necessary to scroll to see the page tree.

I saw, in the space setting, it is possible to hide menus such as: overview , blog, calendar... and remove the apps. (but there is still the "shaw apps" line)

but can we do more?
possible to reduce the line spacing, to put the page tree at the top of the sidebar, to remove the "Apps/show apps" and "space shorcut" sections?
I didn't find a solution and I can't find a plugin to do that.

Do you have any ideas ?
Thanks

Hi @Mélanie Liguet

Beyond the sidebar settings in Space Settings - not natively.

You could consider...

  • Page Tree Macro: Have the page tree in the main overview page for the Space, not just the sidebar, using the "Page Tree" macro.
    • This could allow you to have it at the top of the page (for example, in a column on one side of the overview page).
  • Apps: Look for an App on the Marketplace which will allow you to customise the Confluence UI, and see if it will meet your needs. For example, check out the Apps from Refined.
  • JAC: Search on jira.atlassian.com - and see if there is a requested feature for this you can vote on, or create a new idea. Not a quick method, but it's good to document your needs for Atlassian's review.

Let us know if any of these options work for you :)

Hello,

Is it possible to add a wiki markup to the sidebar of the cloud version?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Vassia Bravou

Beyond emoji's in page titles, not that I know of.

What were you looking to do specifically?

Hello @Ste Wright ,

Thanks for your answer!

I'm trying to include a space's page tree in the sidebar of another space. But, as I understand this is not yet possible in Confluence Cloud. Am I right?

Best,

Vassia

Hi @Vassia Bravou

Not that I know of - alternatives would be:

  • Use the Shortcut list in the sidebar to link to another Space
  • Use the Page Tree macro to visualise the other Space's page tree inside a page
  • Recreate the other Space's page tree in this Space, then use the Include Page macro to visualise the content of each page
