how do I fix unpublished changes

my page has a message saying "unpublished changes". I've updated the page several times but the message remains.

Hi @Marcy Stone welcome to the Atlassian community.

  • My first suggestion is to clear your browser cache and cookies, and attempt to save and publish the changes again.
  • If the problem persists, kindly review the changes you made on the page to ensure everything is as you intended. Then Save/ publish and check for any pop up with errors.
  • Logout and re-login to your Confluence instance.

I had the same problem and the problem persisted even after following all the steps mentioned by @G subramanyam 
finally managed to resolve it by: edit > ... > view changes > (no change was there) > revert to previous version.
