filter for recently created articles

Petra Rüth May 6, 2024

Hello,
I would like to filter for the most recent created articles, for example the last two weeks. I know that I can use "Advanced search" and use the preset “Last updated: Past 30 days”, but it gives me all newly created plus the updated pages, here is a screenshot:

I need to narrow down the results: I would like to get a list of only the newly created pages. How can I do that?

Hello @Petra Rüth and welcome.

Confluence Databases allows you to apply time filters to 'last updated' or to 'created'....

I wrote this article that has a link to a video that shows you how to add all space pages into a database.

Thank you @Kristian Klima for your quick answer!
I actually found this trick of copying links a few weeks ago, when I needed to have all our pages (around 1.500) in an excel document. I guess a database as you use it would have been as helpful at this point.
I don't know how to get this Database add-on. Is is a feature I can request? Probably I would have to ask our admin for that. I will give it a try.

To enable Databases...

Go to Confluence Settings, Configuration, New Features and enable Databases.

....atlassian.net/wiki/admin/newfeatures

(it's still in Beta - https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/databases )

There's also this free app Pages Manager by Riksoft and it does offer similar functionality.

Hello @Petra Rüth
If you are open to 3rd party apps, the Viewtracker app offers in its Content & Usage Report the possibility to filter for newly created content for the desired date range.

Kind regards,

Mattia

Thank you Mattia,

I am still trying to get the Pages Manager installed. Unfortunately, it takes a while until a request goes through IT. If the Pages addon is not solving the problem, I will give Viewtracker a try. Thank you for your suggestion!

For another project, I have worked with the JQL search in Jira. There you have the possibility to search for “created”:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/advanced-searching-fields-reference-939938743.html

Now I was wondering if I could not solve this above described problem as well. Because when you use the advanced search, the URL in the browser shows for example this:
https:// [...] .atlassian.net/wiki/search?spaces=TYPE&lastModified=past30Days

Why not simply modify it similar to this?
https:// [...] .atlassian.net/wiki/search?spaces=TYPE&created=past30Days

Unfortunately it didn't work. So I guess this is not a valid way :/
