export a confuence site to html via the API

Raymond Chudzinski March 4, 2024

I need to export a site to html. I have succeeded in doing this via the interactive browse WebUI.

What I need is to be able to kick off that same export via a REST (or series of REST) calls.

The Datapipeline API appears to only export to csv.  I am running confluence datacenter 8.5.6 LTS.

Simply put, are there REST endpoints that will allow for this?

I think there is no "official" way to do that, but:

  1. There is a workaround relying on the legacy XML/RPC API to export a space to HTML.  It is applicable to a space, but you wrap it to an iteration and do it for each space on your site, then it could work. See: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-40457
  2. Use the Scroll HTML Exporter app: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/420604/scroll-html-exporter-for-confluence?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview
