hi,
users of JIRA 7.3 server.
we are planning to create linked "software project" spaces in Confluence for all of our JIRA projects. we want to store application level documents in the spaces and other info as well. we want to create projects in JIRA at stand-alone application level. so, each stand-alone app or product will have 1 project in JIRA.
1) My problem is we might have close to 300 standalone apps. Is there a way to create thesE multiple projects easily. without having to create each one manually?
2) are there going to be any isues i need to think ( from admin stand point) if we have 300 projects in JIRA?
3) when i create a project in JIRA, is there a way that it would automatically create a space in Confluence( i think this functionality was depricated)
thanks!
Hi,
You're going to need to use an add-on such as ScriptRunner or Bob Swift's CLI to accomplish creation of multipls projects at once.
Take a look at the links I provided. The ScriptRunner link is to a community post where a script was written using ScriptRunner and the Bob Swift link is to their knowledge base article showing you how to use their tool to create projects using templates.
Cheers,
Branden
