I want to create multiple jira issues from a confluence table as tasks and assign them to an existing parent Epic.
I know that this worked a while ago, but I recognize that Atlassian something might have changed.
I have linked an EPIC issue in the confluence page, but the configuration popup does not provide any selection of the epic.
Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong here?
regards
Jürgen
There was some changes to the creation of jira issues indeed, and we are planning to support bulk-setting issue fields, but this is something not available yet.
If this is crucial for you to have this option available, we might be able to request with our internal teams to reenable the legacy experience for you and see if it works as you used to work with, until these options in the current experience is available.

Jessica
Hi Jessica,
thanks for your reply. My current workaround is to export the table as cab (also a new nice feature) and then bulk import. Since it is always the same type of table, with the use of the configuration file, this method works for the moment. However this is also a little of a pain for a standard user.

Hi @Jürgen Wieser ,
I know that you should be able to add/change a lot of different values when you edit issues 1-by-1. For example, once you select the table, you should be able to see the list of issues that are about to be generated and then you can configure values, including Epic/Parent for each.
Are you saying that you used to be able to select parent/Epic for all issues simultaneously, without having to edit them one by one?
I know there are some open suggestions on the topic, so you might want to check those out as well.
Cheers,
Tobi

What is the advantage if I need to configure issue creation on issue level? For that I can open the respective jira project and add issue by issue. I want to create issues from table to be able to create a larger number of issues at once!. It was a nice feature to place the parent in the page and then have the ability to select this issue as parent for all items in the table.

@Jürgen Wieser yeah - I see the pain point with this 1-by-1 approach. Especially as it was possible to 'bulk set' Epic for all issues in the table. I know there were some changes to this feature, including updates to UI part.
I've asked the Atlassian Support team for assistance here > to review the question (should get back to you in a day or two), so they might share some additional light on the feature itself. 👀
If that's something that was removed in recent updates, I would also highly prefer to have that option back as I believe some of our clients did use it.
