confluence migrate with different website

Hsu Yao Chang January 31, 2017

Dear partners,

If we would like to migrate confluence with different our website by apache in ubuntu server,we try to copy our website to the path of  /var/www/html of apache. But when we connect the our website , it will connect confluence login page (because we have use this way of https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/proxying-atlassian-server-applications-with-apache-http-server-mod_proxy_http-806032611.html to change confluence port from 8090 to 80 port) . So how can we connect our website and confluence separately ? Thanks a lot.

Confluence is not a static or generated website, it is a service.

The stuff under /var/www is utterly irrelevant to Confluence, so you can forget it.  Just put your website on it as normal (or not, if you don't want it there).  Some people create an empty directory just to indicate that there's a place reserved for Confluence, but you don't need it.

Choose a url for Confluence, when you set up the apache proxy, it will know that if a user lands there, it will go to Confluence for the data.  The setup of the proxy is covered in the doc you refer to.

Dear Nic Brough,

Thanks for your kindly reply. But I would like to make sure with you as listed as below:

Choose a url for Confluence, when you set up the apache proxy, it will know that if a user lands there, it will go to Confluence for the data.  The setup of the proxy is covered in the doc you refer to.

choose a url mean the setting of General Configuration-->Site Configuration-->Server Base URL, is it right?

I can setup confluence by using apache proxy, but another website can not work in apache by 80 port service.  How can we make another website work with confluence by 80 port , Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure what you are asking now.  If you want to run Confluence on yoursite.com/confluence, that's your base url, and what you need to set up in the proxy.  If you want it on confluence.yoursite.com, then set it up there.   The doc contains examples of both of those types of scheme.

There's then nothing to stop you running other sites, at places like yoursite.com/home, or home.yoursite.com
