can't log on to confluence

Pedro Paulino July 19, 2017

I installed confluence on a hyper-v host. The address dhcp gave me was 192.168.1.205. The physical port died so i changed to to another port. After changing the port i was issued a new address, 192.168.1.29. I then reset the address to static and gave it the 192.168.1.205 address. I am now unable to log back on to confluence. I can ping the server and ssh to it.

How are you trying to log on? I am assuming you cannot access the login page at all, please let me know if that is not the case.

I am guessing you are using the IP and port, for example:

http://192.168.1.205:8090

 Please ssh to the server and try a wget on the localhost and port, to see if Confluence serves the login page - here is an example of what the output looks like if the instance is running:

wget http://localhost:8090
--2017-07-19 14:50:31-- http://localhost:8090/
Resolving localhost... ::1, fe80::1, 127.0.0.1
Connecting to localhost|::1|:8090... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 302 Found
Location: /login.action?os_destination=%2Findex.action&permissionViolation=true [following]
--2017-07-19 14:50:31-- http://localhost:8090/login.action?os_destination=%2Findex.action&permissionViolation=true
Reusing existing connection to [localhost]:8090.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: unspecified [text/html]
Saving to: 'index.html'

index.html [ <=> ] 25.95K --.-KB/s in 0.02s

2017-07-19 14:50:32 (1.53 MB/s) - 'index.html' saved [26568]

If you can get a response locally then we will have narrowed it down to a networking issue.
