Why wont table insert at cursor position when editing a page?

Editing a page trying to insert a table, but table is not inserted at location of cursor. Is there some special "table insertion cursor" I need to use?

@David Salazar Unfortunately in the new editor you can not add a table in lists.  It will always need to be before the list element or after the element.  You can always change your formatting and use Headings to help format your page.

In screen shot below, am trying to insert a table between the first and second bullets in the list (i.e. continuation of the body of the first bullet).  If I place the cursor at the end of the "Note" line, table is inserted before the first bullet.  If I place the cursor at the beginning of the text of the first bullet, table is inserted after the second bullet.

You should be able to just paste it in.  When you paste the table what happens?  Where are you coping it from?   Can you share screenshots?
