Yes, that would seem to be the better approach! Most of the restricted functions are hidden or removed, but there are some anomalies and this appears to be one of them.

I think we're all wondering why stir up a mess by having the disabled checkbox visible at all. If they can make it disabled, they can make it hidden...

Absolutely feels like a taunt.
I understand the security issue, and why it's disabled.
However... Having it there when I have no say in changing it is... well.. a taunt. As @Chris Purser said... "If they can make it disabled, they can make it hidden..."
Or simply... removed.
