Why do Draw.io diagrams show 'Evaluation Licence - Not for production use'

ZacT April 30, 2024

I have a paid subscription to Confluence and have added Draw.io, which is free for less than 10 users.

I want to share some documents with a client that contain draw.io diagrams but they all show the message 'Evaluation Licence - Not for production use'. I can't see how I can get rid of the message, has anyone else had this issue?

I have a similar issue but I am the only confluence user currently on my account. My confluence license is also at the free tier. I added draw.io to my site today so maybe it will go away once the "trial" ends but I am under 10 users given that I am the only user. I had wanted to share out the pages (with diagrams) I am creating as a proof of concept but it looks a little silly with the watermark. Especially since I ensured people this wouldn't cost us anything (for a fully feature rich experience) unless until we go over 10 users. I also was just at Team 24 and was ensured that it was free for up to 10 users which is one of the reasons I decided to go with draw.io over other options. Maybe this is more a limitation of the marketplace only offering a trial to start.

@Edward Socker the message will go away after the trial period (30 days). Then, if you're in an instance with less than 10 users, you will be able to keep using the app without seeing that message; you will be considered fully licensed. It is a quirk of the Atlassian Marketplace system that everyone starts in the Evaluation phase, even if they already qualify for the free >10 user plan.

Hi Edward. Just checked with our tech support. We introduced this message for all users that don't have a valid/matching user tier. Unfortunately, this message also pops-up during the trial period of the free (10 users and below) Cloud user tier. We will have a look at it and do our best to exclude the free user tier from this watermark. Until that day we can assure you that the message will disappear once the trial period (30 days) ended.

Thanks for the quick response; my theory seems to be correct.

The user tier of draw.io, like all paid via atlassian app, has to match that of the host tier. If your confluence tier is over 10 users, so is your draw.io tier and the app is paid above 10 users.
