Facts:
So, when I write on Confluence the apostrophe character is changed automatically.
When originally I press the apostrophe button the character written is: '
But when I add more letters it turns to: ´ which is then marked as wrong by the Google Spelling tool.
Then I have to change one by one all the apostrophes, which is pretty annoying.
Is there a way to configure Confluence not to make this change automatically?
Definitely interesting. I think you will need to open a support ticket with Atlassian for this one to find out what is going on.
Done:

I'll tell here what they say.
Thanks John.

Hi John,
Atlassian is still working on this but it seems this behaviour does not happen with the old Legacy editor.
I'll keep you posted.

Interesting. What happens with other browsers?

Hi Jack,
I does not happen with Firefox.
But, strangely, it does not happen also with Chrome with other sites as Google Drive or GMail....

I have to imagine it is the/a grammar checker in Chrome. I wonder if you might be using an extension. If I get a moment today I will check how my chrome behaves.

Hi Jack.
No, I don't use any extension for spelling. Just the default Chrome tool.

Behaves the same for me but not detecting spelling errors.

Thank you Jack. Have you noticed that other apps does not change the apostrophe? Like Gmail for example?

I have not observed TBH. I have to wonder if it comes down to the font. Some fonts seem to stick with the straight apostrophe while others use the curly or slanted. The straight is typically best suited for coding scenarios while more formal writing favors the curly/slanted variety. I am unsure of the font used in Confluence but it would be interesting to try different fonts in a word processing app to check the theory.
