I'm running self-hosted Confluence v8.5.5 Server. There have been security updates. The latest version is v8.5.18. When I attempt to upgrade, the installation, it asks for a License key. But since Atlassian quit extending license for the self-hosted product, my license has expired. What do I need to do to get this upgraded?
Hi
With an expired license you can still update Confluence, but you can only upgrade to version released before your license expiration.
Updating to more recent version require a valid license, so a Data Center license if I'm not mistaken. You do not have to have a data center infrastructure to install a DC license. It will require to replace the server license with the data center license.
