What are the options to handle outdated answers in Confluence Questions?

Bartek Kobyłecki September 11, 2014

Hi!

I don't know what is the best way to handle a question with answer that was accepted at some point as the best one, but become outdated/invalid. (Because for example something has changed in organization).

What are possible options?

thanks!

I would say add a new answer and select it as the answer. Maybe even reference the original answer and mention that the information has changed.

Thanks Davin. I like the idea with including outdated answer.

Hi Bartek,

If you are using labels, you can create a label lets say 'archived', tag it with this label and remove the regular labels from the question. Other way would be to delete the question (for that you will have to delete all comments on it).

Please let us know if this answers your question.

Cheers!

That's nice idea. The risky part is that someone will not notice the label and treat the answer as valid.
