Websequencediagrams cannot be installed on this Cloud instance.

James Howe-Davies August 2, 2021

Dear Confluence team,

I have site-admin privileges, have ticked the boxes to Enable  private listings/Enable development mode, but am now facing this error (screen shot below):

https://www.websequencediagrams.com/confluence/wsdmacro-5.0.0.jar cannot be installed on this Cloud instance.

Here is the page from WSD: https://www.websequencediagrams.com/confluence/

Please you provide guidance on how I can install the WSD plugin on my cloud instance of Confluence?

Many thanks, James

Correct.  .jar files provide Server apps to Confluence, which Cloud does not support.

You will need to find a Cloud equivalent for this app.

Thanks for the answer. I have now contacted the team at websequencediagrams.com and will post their answer once received - fingers crossed they have created a Confluence Cloud equivalent...

Great news - Steve Hanov from WebSequenceDiagrams has responded to me and now created a Confluence Cloud compatible version - which works fantastically.

He has confirmed I can share the link with the community:
https://www.websequencediagrams.com/confluence/atlassian-connect.json

So in summary to get working:

  • Make sure you have site-admin priveledges.
  • Go to Manage apps
  • Go to Settings an ensure Enable private listings and Enable Development mode are ticked
  • Go to Upload app
  • Paste the above URL into the "Enter app descriptor URL"

Hey presto!

Thanks for being so reactive and well done Steve and the WSD team!
