View "Shapes in Excel" via Confluence

M Shah January 19, 2012

I have an Excel spreasheet where I have used shapes within Excel. The boxes and lines are inserted shapes in to Excel using standard Excel functionality (Insert>Shapes). However, if I attach the file to a Confluence page and then link to it none of the shapes come out - although normal text and colour filling of Excel cells are visible.

Is this a bug or is there a way I can link to the Excel document so that the shapes within Excel are visible via Confluence?

I could be wrong, but I think that Confluence converts the values in the cells into an HTML table. So, adding shapes over the top of the spreadsheet canvas will not translate well in Confluence.
