View page permissions

Anita Pallas April 22, 2024

Hello

Is there a report in confluence we can run either at a global level or a space level that will show what users have access to what pages and what permissions they have?

Also is there a way to show the little permissions lock on the sidebar next to the page name?

Thanks

Hi @Anita Pallas

Unfortunately, Confluence itself doesn't offer a built-in report that shows user access details for all pages at a global or space level. However, there are workarounds you can explore:

1. Using Confluence Search:

You can leverage Confluence search with advanced filters to identify pages a specific user has access to. Here's how:

  • Go to the search bar in Confluence.
  • Type spacekey: ~me (replace spacekey with the actual space key).
  • This will return all pages in the chosen space where you have editing or browsing permissions.
  • You can further refine the search by adding keywords or using advanced search operators documented by Atlassian (reference: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Confluence+Search+Syntax)

2. Checking Permissions Manually:

For individual pages:

  • Open the desired page in Confluence.
  • Click the three dots menu (...) in the top right corner.
  • Select "Restrict Permissions". This will display the current permissions for that specific page.

Regarding the Permission Lock Icon:

Currently, Confluence doesn't display the permission lock icon on the sidebar next to page names.
