after uploading .wmv files to confluence, but they don't play in neither Chrome, nor Firefox, nor IE nor do they play in media player when opening the link from the attachment player. Yet when I download the file to my workstation and open with MediaPlayer, the file play again.
Any suggestions ?
thanks for the hints - the issue is that our (stoneage) version of MediaPlayer doesn't https :-(
Hey RLE,
Are you embeding them into the page using the Multimedia macro? Is there anything special about these wmv files? Could you tell me how large they are (filesize), and how long they are (time)?
Also, take a look at: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Embedding+Multimedia+Content and see if maybe you overlooked something.
Cheers,
Boris Berenberg

(this is quite urgent - it is our corporate CIO's weekly video blog... quite embarassing if that would not work on Monday)

I think the issue may be with your HTTPS certificate. Are you using a self signed one? Do you have an error from within WMP which you can provide?

Thanks Boris - checked the url before, nothing that helps there, filesize is 33MBs (have bigger ones, but thought to try with a couple of smaller first - all the same result). Length is between 2 and 10 minutes - again same result for all of them.
On our old confluence 3.5.2 it worked (still works) on the new one 4.2.5 it doesn't - uploaded the same file in both places. Other differences are
OLD is running on windows, NEW on linux
OLD supports http, NEW only https
...any suggestions
