I am attempting to add a multi-line text variable to a page template. I followed an online video and all seemed pretty simple. When I attempt to add the variable, however, I get first get a message that says something like, "This template uses variables. Once you fill them in, the information you supply will become part of the content in your new page." I then click somewhere on the page, expand the expand macro for example, and the variable disappears. Did I miss some configuration step? I am attempting this work in my personal space, so I am a space admin.
Hi @Eric McLean ,
I have just tried it and did not get any error when adding variables. Did you follow this documentation : https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/create-a-template/
It just says to use the macro "variable" and then add whatever information is needed (name, type).
Let me know if this helps,

Hi @Alexis Robert ,
Thanks for the response. I believe I've followed the instructions correctly. I can see the variable as I am creating the page, but once I click the Create button, it disappears. While editing the template, I still see the variable saved with the template.

Hi @Eric McLean ,
looks like you're doing the right thing, I'm not sure why your variable disappears.
Here's what it looks like on my Confluence, when creating the template, using it to create a page, and publishing it :
