Users encountering problems inserting links into pages

We have several users reporting that when editing a page and trying to insert a link (using either the ctrl+k shortcut or the button in the UI) nothing happens. Currently the only workaround this seems to be to refresh/hard refresh the page, which fixes the problem, but this is quite disruptive to users, especially if they don't know about the workaround.

Does anyone know if there is a more robust workaround for this? And is it fixed in more recent versions? WE're currently on 7.1.2

Has this issue been fixed? If so, anyone know in which version?

I know this is an old post but thought I would inquire. Is it possible that this is a browser interop issue? Have you attempted to reproduce with other browsers?
