User input to generate a runbook

Steve Winkler January 28, 2021

I'd love to be able to create a page that captures a few values from a user to generate a runbook of commands/steps to perform.

A majority of the text would be static but things like device names and IP addresses would change each time it's used.  I thought confiforms might be the way to go but couldn't find a way to reference the fields intermingled with plain text.

Is there a way to do what I'm after?

Hi

Yes, absolutely possible with ConfiForms

You can have a ListView over your data that contains "code" macro or something and has a mix of static data with [entry.field_name] notations to render values from a form's record

Something like this
