Updates in Slack appear from Anonymous user

Martin Stoyanov November 21, 2023

Hello everyone,

I have opted for the  "Slack notifications" option for a certain page in my space with all children pages included (Edits on this page, Comments on this page, Adds a child page, Edits a child page, Comments on a child page)

The feature works great for me as I need immediate updates if a page gets an update and a comment specifically. The only issue is that some of the users appear as Anonymous in Slack:

I tested with several other accounts that appear just fine and I think it's not permissions related as I tried all options and I get the notification even like this if the person has permissions limited to "Add/Delete comments" only. Also, we checked the Profile and visibility within the Atlassian account and every piece of info is visible to "Anyone"

Your help is appreciated!

Regards,

Martin S.

Strange! I wonder if the way the users are provisioned isn't matching them between Slack and Confluence somehow?

I don't see anything in this support article that is relevant, but would be a good addition to the article if you ever identify what's causing it! https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/use-slack-and-confluence-together/
