Update Jira & Confluence

Laurent DAUPHIN August 14, 2019

Hello all,

I need to update :

- Jira Software 7.3.5 ==> Jira Software 8.3.2

- Confluence 5.7.1 ==> Confluence 6.15.7

They share the same on premise linux debian buster server with MariaDB 10.3.15

Which should I upgrade first ? Jira or Confluence ?

Thanks,

I guess the answer is I should first migrate/upgrade my SGBD !

Hi @Laurent DAUPHIN ,

You can upgrade either jira or confluence as per your priorities or preferences.

Please make sure no conflict with Application links (if you are using)

Make sure Maria DB is not supported by Atlassian.

Indeed, there are known problems with Maria, you really must use a supported MySQL database (5.6 or 5.7 for both most recent Jira and Confluences)
