Unable to upload any files on a space

Gauresh Chavan April 16, 2019

I have been trying to upload word documents on to my confluence space. However I am getting a system error:

org.hibernate.AssertionFailure: null id in com.atlassian.confluence.impl.journal.JournalEntry entry (don't flush the Session afterQuery an exception occurs)
    at org.hibernate.event.internal.DefaultFlushEntityEventListener.checkId(DefaultFlushEntityEventListener.java:60)

Hello Gauresh,

Welcome to Community! Thank you for reaching out.

Can you confirm the following?

  1. Your Confluence Server version
  2. If this occurs with all Word documents across all Spaces
  3. If multiple users can replicate the issue
  4. What the error looks like in the UI - feel free to attach a screenshot
  5. The full stack trace from your Confluence server logs. The part you've included appears to be only one piece of a full error message, but we'll need to see more. For example, the part that starts with ERROR and ends with the line Caused by will help us to understand more.

Thank you for your help!

Regards,

Shannon

Hi Shannon,

To give you an update, I installed a new Confluence version 6.15.2. But I'll appreciate a solution on the error.

1) Confluence Server I was using was 6.14.1
2) Yes, the error was occurring across spaces with every user trying to upload
3) Yes, multiple users could face the same issue. They tried uploading .png, .pdf, .xlsx files as well
4) Sharing the screenshot

Gauresh,

Thank you for that. Generally this occurs when splitting a Word document into child pages, but it's very odd if it also occurs when adding image attachments to a page.

Thank you for your screenshot, but I'd also really like to see the entire stack trace. Could you copy/paste the entire stack trace, but do it from the Confluence server logs? The UI tends to cut off part of the error.

You can use Pastebin or something similar if you're not able to paste them into this thread.

Regards,

Shannon
