Unable to see (Force garbage collection) for Confluence ->System info->java VM Memory statistics->Memory Graph

Sindhu October 13, 2016

I want to clear GC for Confluence but Force garbage collection option is not available in Confluence but it's there for JIRA and Fisyeye.

Please suggest me on this.

If you have Confluence pointing to a JDK, you can run the following:

sudo jcmd 38888 GC.run

(i) Where 38888 is the PID for Confluence

I've tried this out several times and it always triggers a full GC in my environment. Hope this helps! :)

Confluence doesn't have the same sort of memory usage, the force GC option isn't as useful.

Rather than do it, could you explain why you think you want to force a GC run?
