Unable to copy/paste 'action item' tick boxes

I'm trying to create a template from a Confluence page that has dozens of action items. I copy the selected area, but when I paste into a blank 'Create Template' page, they come in as bulleted items, and I cannot select and change them. I can remove the bullets in bulk but cannot change to action items. 

This means a VERY manual process of moving the cursor to each of hundreds of items to select the 'action item' tick box. 

Does anyone know a way to get this done?

This is a known bug with Cloud Confluence, but it was closed because it was decided that it didn't affect enough people: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-58438

It certainly affects me. It's really time-consuming. Moving to Cloud Confluence has been a big step backwards. Very basic copy/paste functionality doesn't work correctly.

This is... disappointing.  We also have just moved to Confluence in the cloud and are extremely surprised that we've had such a step back in functionality.
