Unable to add table transformer macro under another macro space

KB February 25, 2025

I have been trying to add a table transformer (from stiltsoft) macro on Cloud version of confluence under another macro like table excerpt, chart from table or just another table transformer but every time I add a "Table transformer", under another other macro, it just adds it outside the intended macro space.

For reference, nested Table transformer seems to work fine on the data centre edition as can be seen here:

On the cloud version, even if I insert the table transformer macro explicitly under another table transformer space, it just by default creates it outside which deems it pretty useless for my usecase as I would like the output of the table transformer to feed into a table excerpt which eventually would be used to plot chart:

Is this a known bug/issue on the Table transformer macro for confluence cloud?

Thanks for your support.

Hi @KB ,

It's a known limitation of Confluence Cloud: you can't nest macros directly on the page. Неre is the ticket for reference and voting:  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-78513

If to talk about the Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence app (the mentioned Table Transformer macro belongs to it), you should use the Table Toolbox macro.

The Table Toolbox macro was specifically developed to overcome this limitation and allows you to nest macros inside its shell.
